When to Use Hybrid Formula

Hybrid Formula combines a regression model with a rule-based threshold adjustment, blending statistical math with process engineering knowledge.

Use Hybrid Formula when:
  • Data is limited (fewer than 50 samples)
  • The process has known physical limits or breakpoints
  • A single variable dominates behavior above/below a threshold
  • You want more stable predictions in noisy environments
Hybrid models are common in industrial engineering because they combine math + domain expertise into one formula.

Try: In Results → Hybrid section, click Auto-suggest. The system tests every possible threshold and picks the one that gives the lowest combined MAE for both sub-models.
